The Skill-Based Literacy (SBL) project has been initiated in Nuristan province by the TACT National NGO/SCO in collaboration with the esteemed UNESCO Kabul Office.

This vocational training initiative aims to empower youth and adults across three districts: Doab, Nurgram, and the provincial capital, Parun. By the project's conclusion, 400 women will benefit from various vocational training opportunities designed to enhance their academic capabilities, provide learning experiences, and offer psychosocial support.

As part of the program, 400 sewing machines, complete sewing kits, and fabrics have been distributed to the participants. Additionally, a dedicated team of 20 professional and trained instructors will facilitate the training, supported by master trainers, psychologists, counselors, and social workers who are actively engaged in the field.

The project has received a positive reception from the local community in Nuristan. It is important to highlight that this initiative is made possible through the financial support and collaboration of UN Women Afghanistan, marking a significant step toward professional skill development in the province.
