The persistent war, poverty, natural disasters, and recent political change in Afghanistan have caused numerous protection problems for children including staying away from education and health services, exposure to several mental problems, compulsory work, illegal migration, compulsory separation from the family, and being exposed to numerous violence including gender-based violence. Today’s Afghanistan Conciliation Trust Organization, in cooperation with the international and national organizations such as the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF), Child Protection Sub-Cluster, Afghanistan Humanitarian Fund (AHF) and TDH of Germany and with the support and cooperation of the Afghan government and community leaders, is working to serve the children of particularly in response to current emergency in Afghanistan.

Today’s Afghanistan Conciliation Trust Organization (TACT) is currently implementing child protection projects in Paktika and Khost provinces, as well as in Logar, Paktia, Herat, and Daikundi provinces. These projects seek to provide long-term solutions to child protection issues by providing psychosocial counseling services and training local teachers, health workers, and children's caregivers on children's rights and mental health. Identify, register, and help to integrate unaccompanied and separated children into their families/caregivers, provide case management and advocacy for children who have been victims of violence, and raise public awareness of child rights through gatherings, radio, and television programs.

جنگ گسترده، فقر، آفت های طبیعی و تغییرات سیاسی اخیر در افغانستان باعث مشکلات متعددی برای اطفال شده است. از جمله این مشکلات میتوان به دور ماندن از درس و تعلیم، خدمات صحی، مصاب شدن به مشکلات روانی، مجبور شدن به کار، مهاجرت های غیرقانونی، جدایی اجباری از خانواده و معروض شدن به خشونت های متعدد بشمول خشونت های مبتنی بر جنسیت اشاره کرد. موسسه همبستگی و مساعدتی افغانستان نوین با همکاری سازمان های بین المللی مانند صندوق کمک های بشری افغانستان (AHF)، صندوق کودکان سازمان ملل متحد (UNICEF) و با حمایت و همکاری ادارات دولتی و بزرگان قومی افغانستان کوشش نموده مینماید تا به مشکلات حمایتی اطفال در این شرایط اضطراری رسیدگی نماید.
موسسه همبستگی و مساعدتی افغانستان نوین همین اکنون پروژه های حمایت از اطفال را در ولایت های پکتیکا و خوست و همچنان در ولایت های لوگر، پکتیا، هرات و دایکندی به پیش میبرد. در این پروژه ها کوشش میشود تا راه حل های طولانی مدتی برای مشکلات حمایتی اطفال از طریق فراهم ساختن خدمات مشوره دهی روانی – اجتماعی، آموزش دهی معلمین، کارمندان صحی، والدین اطفال در مورد حقوق اطفال و صحت روانی اطفال، شناسایی، ثبت و پیگیری اطفال جدا شده از خانواده هایشان، فراهم ساختن مدیریت قضیه برای اطفال که قربانی خشونت شده اند و ارتقای آگاهی عامه در مورد حقوق اطفال از طریق گردهم آیی ها، پروگرام های رادیویی و تلویزیونی فراهم سازد
