Implementation Location: Gardiz and Laja Ahmad Khil districts in Paktia province, Khoshi, Charkh and Baraki Barak districts in Logar province, Enjil and Karrukh districts in Herat province, and Sangi Takht, Khadir, and Ishtarly districts in Daykundi province.
This project supported more than 20,000 vulnerable children in need of immediate assistance in 10 districts of Herat, Daykundi, Paktia and Logar provinces. Targeted provinces are of prioritized geographic areas for child protection services in HRP 2022. Throughout this project TACT provided life-saving services and support for vulnerable children including provision of Mental Health and Psychosocial Services (MHPSS), Case Management and reintegration services for Unaccompanied and Separated Children (UASC) and children at risk including missing children, child survivors of violence including SGBV, referral services, facilitation of access to services, and following case management services. In this project TACT will implement the Social Emotional Learning (SEL) model in emergency contexts for the first time to help children in their coping with their changed life in emergency.
TACT worked with other sectors including health facilities in the targeted provinces to integrate MHPSS and strengthen referral of the children (boys and girls) and women victims of GBV to appropriate health services. TACT also provided educational and hygiene kits for the most vulnerable children in this project.
